Test Prep:

Most students purchase a 10 hour block of instruction at $75 an hour.  I do, however, offer smaller blocks of time and hourly instruction.  

College Counseling:

The most common option is to begin with a packaged service that includes a phone interview, personality inventory, and a list of 15 colleges for $400.  From there, students sometimes seek additional guidance as their interests change or their board scores increase, which is best done at my hourly rate of $90. I can also offer advice on campus visits and alumni interviews on an hourly basis.

Admissions Essays: 

Many college consulting firms charge a fixed rate to review a student's work. I don't like to do this, for two reasons: 1) it gives the reviewer an incentive to 'get through' the essay in as little time as possible; and 2) it connotes that you are paying for a product (i.e. the essay) rather than a service, which is my feedback and help.

I do offer a one-time spelling, grammar, and punctuation check for $400, but I prefer to work on an hourly basis, because it provides you with a low-pressure entrance to the service to try it on for size, and because it allows us to scale up the service according to your needs.  I am happy to enter into the picture at any point in the writing process, from brainstorming to final editing.    

You may want to begin with a one-hour consultation, and then decide whether you are likely to need a 5-hour or 10-hour block of time, or you may decide that you want to attend my summer college essay workshop in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Law School / MBA:

I do not tutor for the LSAT or GMAT, but I am happy to review your personal statement.  Generally graduate students require less time than undergraduate applicants, and so the 5-hour block of time is the most popular option.
